An Oil Painting of Mountain Shadows

This painting of mountains, with a creek in the foreground, is a study in shadows. I painted it from a color photo, painting it in black and white (burnt umber).

The mountains are one of my favorite places to visit because I like the green of the forest, the scenery in the mountains, the sound of babblying brooks and the wind blowing through the trees. I've had several friends offer to buy this painting, but I won't part with it. I keep it handing in my living room.
