MOTHER PLEASE
When I was 1 year old, she fed me and bathed me.
I thanked her by crying all night long. When I was 2 years old, she taught me to walk. I thanked her by running away when she called. When I was 3 years old, she made all my meals with love. I thanked her by tossing my plate on the floor. When I was 4 years old, she gave me some crayons. I thanked her by coloring the dining room table. When I was 5 years old, she dressed me for the holidays. I thanked her by plopping into the nearest pile of mud. When I was 6 years old, she walked me to school. I really thanked her by screaming, "I'M NOT GOING!" When I was 7 years old, she bought me a baseball. I thanked her by throwing it through the next-door-neighbor's window. When I was 8 years old, she handed me an ice cream. I thanked her by dripping it all over my lap. When I was 9 years old, she paid for band lessons. I thanked her by never even bothering to practice. When I was 10 years old she drove me all day, from football to bandto one birthday party after another. I thanked her by jumping out of the car and never looking back or saying I love you or good bye. When I was 11 years old, she took me and my friends to the movies. I thanked her by asking her not to come in with us. When I was 12 years old, she warned me not to watch certain TV shows. I thanked her by waiting until she went to sleep. Now that I'm 13 years old, she suggested I start paying for my own haircuts. I thanked her by telling her she had all the money. But i truly love my mom. By Benjamin |
