This site had been online for 7 months with negligable traffic and still a PR 0. The site had deprecated and broken code, code bloat, the header and title were not utilizing their major keywords, the menu was in images as well as JavaScript which means some search engines were not picking up the major keywords.

Google (which can read Javascript) had the menu links listed instead of the description so I tweaked the table cells forcing main table content to appear first. Each major engine only had two links listed so gathering links was a top priority also. The redesign kept most of the original visual layout, we just tweaked the code to improve ranking in search engines.

This site jumped to over 350 visitors per week within one month but mostly due to listing the site with software distributors as it takes the major search engines several weeks to catch up to a redesign. MSN was ranking the site for it's major Keywords on first page of resultswithin one month.
