Before the redesign this site had several titles the same (hampers keyword ranking) and no description tags (can cause a penalty in Google) with duplicate text on several pages (also causes a penalty).
Links were not working on the inside pages so once a visitor got to an inside page they couldn't visit the other pages.
There was only one backlink after being online for 1 year.
The site was redesigned 8-8-07
It took several months for Google to update the redesign. By late January 2008 the site was ranking in top 10 for several major keywords. By Mid May 2008 site was ranking #2 for all targeted keywords.
