Before the redesign this site had several titles the same (hampers keyword ranking) and no description tags (can cause a penalty in Google) with duplicate text on several pages (also causes a penalty).
Links were not working on the inside pages so once a visitor got to an inside page they couldn't visit the other pages.
There was only one backlink after being online for 1 year.
The site was redesigned 8-8-07
It took several months for Google to update the redesign. By late January 2008 the site was ranking in top 10 for several major keywords.
