A Photo of Jerry's Old Koi Pond

Jerry's Pond

I trained the evergreens on the old Koi pond into unusual shapes to give them an oriental flavor. The flowers planted in the log lent a woodsy atmosphere to this scene. The small tree in the front part of the photo is a flowering cherry tree. The tree actually produces a nice crop for the birds, but are not eatable for humans. I liked the way is was trained to hang down, making a droopy scene of old shaped limbs. Because the pond is so deep, I built steps so I could get in and out of the place when I was building it. I planted a pond Lilly that belonged to my Mom for about 30 years at the top of the stairs in the pond. It is the only place in the area that was shallow enough for the pond plant.
