A Delphinium is a perennial plant that loves full sun, and blooms in early summer. It grows from 2 to 8 feet in height makes an ideal background plant for your garden. Dwarf varities are also becoming popular making them ideal for flower borders. Delphiniums flowers come in many colors from purple to lavender, pink to white, with various shades of blue being the most common. The flowers appear on the end of spikes with several flowers on the end of each spike which makes them popular as cut flowers.
