Day Lily

The Day Lily is a perennial but not a true lily. It makes a great cut flower which opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. Remove the seed pods if you want them to bloom again later. It needs full sun to produce blooms (I was given this pot of day lilies, not knowing what it was, so I kept it indoors because it made a beautiful houseplant due to the shinny leaves but it didn't bloom for 2 years until I put it outside).
